Ever had one of those wild, clock-ticking moments during the holiday season? This was one for the books! Imagine this: It’s Christmas time, everything’s twinkling, and amidst the festive preparations, I get a call. A boiler emergency! The customer’s heating had given up at the most inconvenient time, and they were in dire need of help.
Not one to leave anyone in the cold, especially during the festive season, I dived right in. It became a mad dash of finding those spare minutes between other commitments and festive activities. Believe me, navigating a boiler swap while sneaking in a mince pie or two was a balancing act!
And here’s the Christmas miracle: within 24 hours, the customer’s house was warm and toasty again. Still, as anyone in our field knows, an installation isn’t just about the main task. There are always those little but crucial bits to finish off, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. It took a little more juggling, but we got there in the end.
In retrospect, there was something incredibly rewarding about bringing warmth to a home during Christmas. It’s those emergency gigs, the ones that challenge you the most, that also remind you why you love this job. Cheers to every professional out there who goes the extra mile, even when the mince pies are calling!
